The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission released a special report in 2014 noting the the tech industry employed Black people at a staggeringly lower rate than other industries. At the time, only 7.4% of U.S. tech employers were Black.
Black Tech Jobs is dedicated to bringing tech opportunities and salaries to the many Black professionals excluded from this industry. They're doing this by building a network of Black tech and tech-adjacent workers to make it easier for companies to reach Black people for open roles, and for Black tech workers to find hiring companies committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) practices.
